Diane Edwards

City Galleries

Main Gallery at Lafayette Public Library

Lafayette Public Library has several gallery spaces. Fort Collins artist Diane Edwards is showing her delicate pastels and beautiful landscapes in the Main Gallery. She says, “In my paintings I look for the small details, the remarkable differences in the Colorado landscape which tend to make it more individualistic. I want to bring to the viewer’s attention the unusual, the colorful in the plain, dull landscape that most people will never notice until seeing it portrayed in a painting. My greatest challenge is to convince the view that those beautiful colors and that variety of detail really do exist but in a different form than they usually expect to see. My joy in life is to transform the ordinary into the beautiful, satisfying scene. Colorado’s natural beauty is remarkable in all it’s various forms.”

MD Friedman

Senior Center Art Gallery

M.D. Friedman is showing his digital paintings at the Lafayette Senior Center Gallery Wall. M.D. M. D. Friedman is a poet, teacher, musician, composer, digital and watercolor artist, photographer, television producer, videographer, small press publisher and web master. His digital art and watercolor paintings have been featured in galleries and juried shows across Colorado where they have won several awards. His art represents an evolution from capturing (through photography) the beautiful and peculiar in our world to expressing (through painting) the beautiful and peculiar within each of us. The resulting works are sometimes startling, sometimes subtly intriguing, but all map the personal journey of the artist from photographer to painter, from collector to creator and from seeing to being. It is the artist’s hope that the joy and self-discovery intrinsic to his work will be contagious to the viewer. His personal website, www.mdfriedman.com , offers access to all his creative pursuits.
