Lafayette’s Arts and Cultural Resources Department has unveiled a new logo for the annual community event. In collaboration with Agency 313 of Lafayette, the new logo was developed to reflect the vibrant, creative, summertime vibe of Art Night Out.
The new Art Market at Art Night Out will also make its debut appearance in 2017. The Art Market will offer a distinctive shopping experience with a wide variety of locally-made arts and fine crafts. The market will be carefully curated to feature an amazing lineup of hand makers, painters, sculptors, photographers and other unique artists and fine craft vendors. These creative goods will be available for purchase from 20 different local vendors and artists. The market is a result of a partnership with Crafted Life, who will manage the Art Market at Art Night Out. Applications to participate are now available at www.cityoflafayette.com/ANO . Art Night Out visitors can also enjoy live demonstrations by artists, crafters, dancers, and others.
Art Night Out has also found a new date; the second Friday of each month. The monthly festival, which will remain in Old Town Lafayette – on Public Road between Cannon and Emma Streets – will be held May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, and September 8.
The band line up will be released later this month.
Art Night Out, in its tenth season, is a free, family-friendly community event that takes place from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on the second Friday, May through September, in Old Town Lafayette. The City of Lafayette sponsors Art Night Out, in collaboration with the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority (LURA), ARTS!Lafayette, and many Lafayette businesses.
